Anne Isaksson is a Swedish visual artist working in film, based in London.

She is currently undertaking a doctorate in Fine Arts at UEL exploring dislocation, connecting feminist and identity formation theory to her investigations. She expresses identity as ambivalent and continuous, as well as being part of a reflexive process. She uses autobiography applied as autotheory to engage in the debate of body politics through identification where the personal is political.

Anne made her full short film directorial debut in March 2023 on completion of Breathless, which she considers her first complete film work, for which she received much recognition and was awarded first prize for best experimental film at Lulea International Film Festival, Best Shorts Competition and London International Short Film Festival, as well being a semi-finalist in Stockholm City Film Festival and shortlisted for Newham Film Festival. Since then she has also produced the much anticipated A Meditation on Trauma which is currently being reviewed by film festivals.

She is a founding member of London based DFA Arts Exchange where she has recently co-curated States of Exchange (SoE) and Hive Curates Commissioned In Out and is part of Centre for Creative and Cultural Practice (CCP) and the CIC BOTH.

Filmmaking is about telling stories and I am telling mine, while also trying to reach out and connect to the viewer.

There are some things that are real that you can see but for ideas to become real, they have to be played out in our senses.”
